Indian Health Service

Serving the Underserved right here at home.

The Indian Health Service (IHS) is the principal federal health care provider and advocate for Native Americans and Alaskan Natives. Their goal is to ensure comprehensive, culturally acceptable personal and public health services are available and accessible to these deserving patient populations. The IHS currently provides health services to approximately 2 million Native Americans and Alaskan Natives who belong to more than 557 tribes in 34 states.

The individuals served by the IHS are among the most underserved and unique patient populations in the United States. For health care professionals with a desire to make a true difference in the lives of countless men, women and children, working locum tenens or temporary staffing at IHS facilities is truly fulfilling a mission. In addition, these assignments offer a rare opportunity to experience some of the most scenic parts of our nation.

Current job opportunities with Top Docs include long- and short-term staffing assignments. If you’re interested in learning more about making a difference in an unexpected way through locum tenens or temporary staffing with the IHS, Top Docs can expertly guide you through the process.
