Coverage: 6 months (potential start date 7/01/2019)
1 Inpatient and 2 Outpatient physicians
Mon-Fri, 8a-4:30p hours
No weekends, no call
Outpatient Provider Duties: Provide psychiatry services at the WNY VAMC’s Outpatient Clinic.
Shifts will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. except for Federal Holidays.
Physician will provide treatment/evaluation/consultations to approximately 10-12 scheduled
patients per day in the regular outpatient clinic; 60 minutes for new patients and 30 minutes for
follow up patients.
Inpatient Provider Duties: Psychiatrist will provide diagnostic/evaluation to approximately 7-8
patients in an acute psychiatric inpatient setting.
Physicians will be responsible for diagnosing, treating and managing psychiatric patients according to current standards of care. Services to be performed include, but are not limited to: performing assessments/examinations on initial encounters with unscheduled, emergent, urgent, and new patients; coordinating patient treatment plans; ordering appropriate diagnostic tests; recommending patients for hospital admission; and documenting in the computerized medical record. One active & unrestricted US state license required
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Physicians are preferred to be certified in ECT but not required. Physicians are preferred to be licensed to prescribe Buprenorphine but not required.
Current CV without any gaps over 30 days
3 current references
VA experience preferred
Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) required
